The Journey of the Designer Khaz was introduced to desktop and web publishing software while he was working at the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) when he observed a co-worker designing a web site and another designing a simple graphic. He was enthused by the artistic capabilities of the software and inquired. The first application he was made familiar with was Paint Shop Pro. It wasn't until he served as the graphic artist and web developer at the University College of the Caribbean (UCC) - a member of the Commonwealth & OAS Consortia of Universities & The Association of Caribbean Tertiary Institutions, (ACTI) that he became proficient in the use of the leading multimedia design software package; Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Indesign, After Effects, Flash etc.) as well as Xara Pro (3D graphic software). He now offers his services to various organizations and individuals in Jamaica and abroad. Other competencies Khaz is by no means limited to the competencies listed above but has an IT background that furnished him with troubleshooting skills in the areas of computer software applications and computer hardware repairs and maintenance and networking skills. He has excellent communicative skills as well as a keen business sense. He is currently enrolled at the UCC where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management. Goal Khaz's goal is to be the designer of choice for graphic and web related materials as he continues to produce a wholesome product that meets international standards and give his clients a competitive edge in whichever market or field of expertise they operate. He continues to research the most efficient methods available and to partner with the best to arrive at his targets in a timely manner. |
